Working with children has always been important to Senuri. She believes in the positive effects of early intervention that would ensure a higher quality of life for people in the long run. After attending the University of Hertfordshire for her BSc in Psychology and King’s College London for her MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health she returned to Sri Lanka to understand the local practices better. She worked as a full time psychology lecturer for American National College, Colombo for 3 years before joining CAFS. She currently practices as a psychologist and is responsible for the overall development and coordination of the CAFS internship programme. She also is a visiting lecturer and research supervisor for the International College of Business and Technology, Colombo.
Senuri is currently working on clearing misconceptions of mental health services in Sri Lanka and creating accessible treatment to the majority. To promote this, she conducts workshops on maintaining stability in work/school/home settings for a number of companies and schools.
