Suhaila is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a MSc in Clinical Psychology from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India and a BA in Psychology, Economics and Sociology from Jyothi Nivas College, India. She also holds a MD in Alternative Medicine from the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine, India.
Following her passion for teaching she has taught at several institutions at the secondary and tertiary education levels before shifting her focus entirely to her clinical practice where she works with individuals, couples and families. While she mostly works with individuals struggling with a variety of emotional difficulties, intrapersonal conflict, relationship issues and trauma, she also has a special interest in psycho-diagnostic assessments and psychometric testing, and works closely with parents and teachers in helping to identify and provide support to children with academic difficulties. She is also a Working Memory coach, trained and certified by the Pearsons Academy to offer the Cogmed Working memory training programme.
Suhaila is also a strong advocate against child sexual abuse and in this capacity she has worked as a consultant for a Children’s home under the purview of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services, Sri Lanka, where she worked with children who have been victims of sexual abuse. She also provides her expertise as a Clinical Psychologist to a number of local and international organisations offering psychological support, workshops and training.
