Think Blue: Autism Awareness Campaign

CAFS conducts an annual campaign in recognition of World Autism Awareness Month in the hopes of creating awareness on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) throughout the country.

2019: Travelling to Galle to attract crowds by making a spectacle of the sky by flying blue kites in support of Autism, we took to the streets to disseminate information on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with the support of our volunteers.
2018: We conducted workshops at various hospitals and schools to create communities that are understanding and supportive of children on the spectrum.
2017: Joining forces with the Psychological Sciences Institute (PSI), we spread awareness on ASD at Galle Face Green and released blue sky lanterns to wrap up a successful Think Blue campaign, the first of many!

LIVE, Because it’s worth it: Suicide Prevention Campaign

An annual suicide prevention campaign hosted by CAFS to spread information to the public on recognizing risk factors and warning signs of suicide, offering initial support to those struggling, and knowing where to seek professional help.

2021: The #RUOKMachang social media campaign launched to encourage men to seek the help they need.
2021: Gatekeeper training workshops to equip the community in identifying, intervening, and supporting those struggling with suicidal thoughts.
2019: Our #BEYOUROWNSUPERHERO campaign focused on bringing out real life stories and experiences of survivors and those struggling with thoughts of suicide.

2019: Suicide prevention and awareness workshop conducted for the student body of ICBT
2017: World Suicide Prevention Day awareness walk from Diyatha Uyana to the amphitheatre at Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo
2017: We lit candles in remembrance of those who lost their lives to and are struggling with the thought of, suicide, and followed it with a tribute concert “Somewhere I Belong” to the late Chester Bennington of the rock band Linkin Park who lost his life to suicide.

2018: Open Mic Night to bring awareness to mental health issues and suicide
2018: Our team, spreading awareness of mental health and suicide to the general public on the streets of Colombo
